SCHEMES

A SCHEME is the collection of the character combinations we decide to use to represent each character in Malayalam alphabet.

Right now this package supports four schemes of transliteration. Please go through the schemes from the links shown in the table and decide which one you want to follow.

MOZHI

Mozhi is a scheme suggested by cibu who is the creator of the parsor varamozhi.

 ACK

ACK is the scheme evolved through the newsgroup Alt.Culture.Kerala. For more information on ACK please see the www.kerala.org page
ITRANS

ITRANS is the scheme used in Avinash Chopde's ITRANS package.

 VELTHUIS

Velthuis is the Scheme deviced by Frans J. Velthuis, primarily for Devnagari script and is used in his tool for transliteration of Devnagari.
